Ascendant Dragon Monk

Feature Description
Ascendant Dragon Origin Choose your origin at 1st level. Your bond with a dragon is the source of your powers. Roll on the Ascendant Dragon Origin table to determine how you honed your abilities.
  • 1: Observed a dragon, aligning your ki with their world-altering power.
  • 2: A dragon actively shaped your inner energy.
  • 3: Studied at a monastery tracing its teachings to a dragon.
  • 4: Meditated near an ancient dragon’s lair, absorbing its magic.
  • 5: Found a scroll written in Draconic that inspired new techniques.
  • 6: Had a dream of a five-handed dragonborn, altering your ki.
Draconic Disciple At 3rd level, channel draconic power to magnify your presence and imbue your unarmed strikes with the essence of a dragon's breath. You gain:
  • Draconic Presence: If you fail a Charisma (Intimidation) or (Persuasion) check, you can reroll it using your reaction. This feature recharges on a long rest.
  • Draconic Strike: Change the damage type of your unarmed strikes to acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison.
  • Tongue of Dragons: Learn to speak, read, and write Draconic or another language of your choice.
Breath of the Dragon At 3rd level, you can unleash draconic energy with your breath. When you take the Attack action, you can replace one attack with a breath weapon. Choose a damage type (acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison) and create either a 20-foot cone or a 30-foot line. Creatures must make a Dexterity saving throw against your ki save DC, taking damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die on a failed save, or half on a successful one. At 11th level, the damage increases to three rolls of your Martial Arts die. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses after a long rest. You can spend 2 ki points to use it if you have no uses left.
Wings Unfurled At 6th level, when you use Step of the Wind, you can unfurl spectral draconic wings that grant you a flying speed equal to your walking speed. The wings vanish at the end of your turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses after a long rest.
Aspect of the Wyrm At 11th level, you can create an aura of draconic power that extends 10 feet from you for 1 minute. As a bonus action, choose one of the following effects:
  • Frightful Presence: As a bonus action, choose a creature within the aura to make a Wisdom saving throw against your ki save DC. On a failed save, it becomes frightened for 1 minute.
  • Resistance: Choose a damage type (acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison). You and your allies within the aura gain resistance to that damage.
You can only use this feature once per long rest, or you can expend 3 ki points to use it again.
Ascendant Aspect At 17th level, your draconic spirit reaches its peak. You gain the following benefits:
  • Augment Breath: Spend 1 ki point to increase the range of your Breath of the Dragon to a 60-foot cone or a 90-foot line (your choice), dealing four rolls of your Martial Arts die damage on a failed save, or half on a successful one.
  • Blindsight: Gain blindsight out to 10 feet. You can see anything within that range, even if you’re blinded or in darkness.
  • Explosive Fury: When you activate your Aspect of the Wyrm, draconic fury explodes. Creatures within your aura must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 3d10 damage of your chosen type (acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison).
